Who We Are

The Retirement Community of Fairbanks, Inc.,  (RCF) is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 2004 to develop, build, and manage a senior community. Raven Landing Senior Community is the first senior housing community to be envisioned for Fairbanks. The initial 20-unit apartment building opened to residents in November 2010.   A second building was added in 2012, and a third in 2013.  Raven Landing 4 opened in 2016 and brings our campus to a total of 95 rental apartments. This complex is the result of many years of work by a core group of dedicated volunteers.  Much has been accomplished by this grass-roots effort, and it’s exciting to see the progress.  Our residents are enjoying the progress, as well!

Since the fall of 2013,  the core building of the campus,  Raven Landing Center has provided space for dining, meetings, and activities for residents and the entire Fairbanks community.  Holiday parties, retirement gatherings, memorial services, proms, fundraising events, wine tastings, and many more special events have been hosted at Raven Landing.

Raven Landing Center,  where multi-generational events for the Fairbanks community and Raven Landing residents, has been a great resource and continues to provide exciting event space and wonderful catering.

Senior Housing

Raven Landing provides rental apartments at market rate for Fairbanks seniors 55 years or older, who desire living in safe, secure buildings which have been specifically designed for seniors.  Studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments are available .  Each building has an elevator, and many amenities are included in the monthly fees.  In 2016, six units were designated for those who meet certain low income requirements.

Funding

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation generously provided grant and loan funding for each of the first three apartment buildings.  Mt. McKinley Bank provided us with loans for the majority of the cost of the last apartment building, completed in 2016.  Many individuals and corporations have contributed over the years to support RCF and the vision of building this community.

Raven Landing Center was funded by generous donations from Alaska businesses and individuals, the Rasmuson Foundation, and two State of Alaska legislative grants.

Raven Landing is grateful for the ongoing support of our many friends in the form of donations, volunteer time, and encouragement! Your continued support of Raven Landing will always be appreciated.
